Nation Group is
owner of Thailand’s leading independent English-language newspaper,
The Nation, the Thai-language daily, Krungthep Turakij
and a range of other publications, as well as radio and television
programs, and Internet websites.
The business structure
of Nation Group consists of eight subsidiary companies: Nation Radio
Network Co., Ltd., Nation Information Technology Co., Ltd., Nation
Broadcasting Corporation Ltd., Nation Egmont Edutainment Co., Ltd.,
Nation International Co., Ltd., Nation Edutainment Co., Ltd. and
Thai Portal Co., Ltd. In addition, the group has investments in

ITV Public Co., Ltd. (held by Nation Broadcasting Corp. Ltd.).
A new subsidiary,
fully owned by Nation Group, the Nation Digital Media Co., Ltd.,
was established to diversify the Group’s Internet related business
by consolidating its different websites into one news portal - with
the domain name www.nationgroup.com.
Concurrently,
this subsidiary is being used to make further investments with new
strategic partners in Internet related business opportunities. Most
significant are the two joint ventures undertaken by Nation Digital
in early 2000. The first is Thai Portal Co., Ltd., the owner and
operator of thailand.com, providing worldwide Internet users
with comprehensive travel, export, business and news related information;
the second was with Singapore Technologies Telemedia (STT) to create
stt-nation.com that will provide web hosting services or
a data center to local and regional websites.
Together with
United Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), Nation Group has recently
launched its own 24-hour cable news TV channel, the first ever in
Thailand, in both Thai and English language. The channel provides
breaking news, in-depth news reporting on politics, the economy,
sports and social events from both local and international sources.
